Charlie Cox stars as Murdock, while Vincent D'Onofrio plays Fisk. The two are joined by principal cast members Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Toby Leonard Moore, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Bob Gunton, Ayelet Zurer, and Rosario Dawson. Daredevil entered development in late 2013,Marvel's Daredevil Season 1 DVD with Goddard initially hired in December 2013. DeKnight replaced him as showrunner and Cox was hired to star in May 2014. The red suit for Daredevil was designed not by costume designer Stephanie Maslansky,Marvel's Daredevil Season 1 but by Ryan Meinerding and the costume artists at Marvel Studios. Filming began in New York City in July 2014, with production ending that December. New York studio Shade VFX created the visual effects for the season, which contains links to other MCU projects, including future Netflix series.
